I know there was a thread that essayson and I were discussing this on but I can't find it back. Anyway, this kind of ammo sure looks promising. Is there a lever action 7.62x39 that might be convertable?

That is a much more elegant solution to the problem of shooting more ballistically efficient bullets out of a lever gun than my idea! My idea was to resurrect the tubular magazine design John Pedersen used in the Remington Model 14, 14 1/2 and 141. It used a pair of spiral beads pressed into the length of the magazine tube to position the bullets so the point of a bullet couldn't contact with the primer of the bullet in front of it.

I couldn't find my original post. Looks like there wasn't enough use of the lever and pump gun forum to justify maintaining it...
