Hi Guys,

Some friends out here in West Texas are holding a Precision rifle match that is ideal for the Grendel. Walk a mile long path, arrive at a shooting position, 6 targets available distances out to 600 yds. You have a certain amount of time to shoot them, all known distances, one shot per target, then you move on to the next position. 4 positions, 24 targets total. All targets are steel, varying in size from prairie dog size to 4" circle to full size IDPA target.
I'm not sure how to do an attachment so I'll just copy the match flyer here. I know this is short notice but if any of you guys are in driving distance, this will be a good time!

You know, I've really been wanting to try a tactical rifle match and ukd stuff. I imagine the Grendel can shine there.

They will be holding this match regularly next year but expanding target numbers. Last one they held had 35 guys show up in 25-30mph winds. The wind sort of ate me up but most probs were my own. Learning process. Had fun, anyway, hahaha.

That sounds like a blast, too bad I'm in Yankee land. Iowa. Get rid of the rear bag IMO.

A competitive action shooting match where the distances ranged from 5yds to 500yds would be ideal for the Grendel, where the clock really counted between shooting positions, and lots of climbing and running was involved. This would favor a lightweight carbine or rifle in the 16"-20" class, with 18" being ideal, and a good across the course load worked up for low-recoil at close-in targets, while being a great performer at distance, which is a tough cookie to crunch, and would push me in the direction of 2 different loads, which might not give me a whole ton of advantages over a 5.56, unless impact strength was a factor in knocking over steel silhouettes at distance, like the LaRue targets, for example.
