There are more and more people doing it. You will need to make sure the glass is sealed off when you do do it, since it is a water-immersion process. If you use flip-up caps, you might plug the glass underneath the caps and have it dipped with the caps closed. Water-immersion dips tend to scratch though.

i dip, lr if you start use a cerakote clear over it and that will stop the scratching...also any one you find to do it , is going to make you sign a waver saying they are held reliable for any damages done to the scope ,and its up to you to know if its water proof ...but scopes have been done a lot

I was thinking of doing that exact thing, but I think there is room for improvement in the chemical composition of the water transfer prints as well, along with the activator. It would be a game-changer if someone did what I would do, but I don't have a degree in chemical engineering. I'll bet they're already working on it though.

When I was in the Army, I used Rustoleum textured paint on my furniture and rail covers, then applied tons of flat matte clear over it for protection, which worked ok. It never glossed-up with use, which was my intent. Here's a better pic of that method:

The reason was because Bowflage comes right off with regular use and especially rain.
