    Hello from Kandahar

Ive joined this forum because this seems to be the center for knowledge of the few ppl who realize that the 6.5 grendel is a superior round, and I wish to learn as much about it as possible.

My main interest is building a SHTF / hunting rifle. I was something with real versatility to the point where i may be asking a little too much, but im here to learn what the limits of the 6.5 grendel are so I can operate there. I want a short cqb suppressed carbine that can still hit out to 500 or 600 meters. And 6.5 grendel seems to be leaps and bounds above the competition for this.

    Happy to be here!

                          Welcome Shootsmart,

Here are some ballistics tables from the Alexander Arms site that give you an idea of the muzzle velocities you can expect with various barrel lengths: http://alexanderarms.com/images/pdfs...ballistics.pdf

The muzzle energies nearest to 500 foot pounds are highlighted in red, so you can get an idea at what range each is effective on game.

It you want to shoot suppressed get an adjustable gas block of some type.

Hey, you're there for us, we'll be here for you!
