It was interesting to see him speak about his son being in the USAFA class of '03. Mine was in the USAFA class of '02, so they were there together in some fashion. Don Rumsfeld was the graduation speaker at my son's event, it was pretty awesome (and of course, what dad wouldn't be proud of his child graduating from a military academy? :) )

That is the best motivational speech I've seen!

Having been on active duty, I continually wonder how some folks are able to survive the Mickey Mouse imposed by sub-par control freaks working the lowest common denominator and still be able to do good for a lot of people. He appears to be one of the good survivors.

He also helped dispel the myth that all AF types have safe, cushy air-conditioned jobs.

BTW for sgt-murph: A fair number of AF pilots hoped that Jane would have pulled the trigger (actually foot-pedal) when she was photographed in the gunners chair of the AA gun in North Vietnam. The ROE would have allowed them to put a Mk 82 or two on her lap!
