  • Remington Core Lokt cannelure

    Hi y'all,

I'm using Remmington Core Lokt 120 grn. over benchmark powder. Has anybody else done this?

Can/should the bullet be seated deep enough to crimp using the cannelure?

    Thanks in advance,
    Reu

I have loaded and shot well over 4K 120 gr Remington Core Locts now ing the Grendel. I've not used benchmark. I pay noattention to the cannulure and instead try to adjust the OAL to be just short of the lands. I read somwhere that the 120 Core loct was devloped for the 6.5 Remington Mag and the cannulure was put on the bullet to keep it from moving around in that cartrage during heaver than Grendel recoil.

Awesome! What powder do you use for the 120 Core Lokt?

I'm old school. I use a lot of BLC (2) with the 120 gr Core Locts. I find it to be most accurate (around 1/2 inch @ 100 yards) at max or just over max recommended loading. People have complained that the powder burnes dirty. Mostly I like Core Locts because of their perfomence on game - and they used to be cheap
