My good friend gave me the hand guard as a congrats for joining the USAF so I decided to make it a build worth building. I figured a plain old stainless bull barrel would look boring. Plus it was heavy as heck. I think it dropped about a pound with the fluting. The front 1.5" was turned down to fit the MB68AR brake. Barrel is a 24" BHW. Machine work done by an acquaintance and GREAT smith Robert Snyder www.rwsgunsmithing.com

I'm stationed at Tinker. There's a 400yd range not far from here where I plan on breakin this thing in.
The freakin quarter thing was a gift from my mom. I dont have the heart to throw it away, but the quarters are in a box. lol

What kind of rail?
Samson Evolution. Really nice rail. Similar in design to the Troy TRX (Which I have on my carbine) but I actually think the Samson is a little better in it's attachment method.

I like the looks of spiral fluted barrels as well, and the handling/weight improvement has to be felt to be appreciated. Looking forward to a range report.

It'll probably look nicer when that brake is covered by a suppressor.

Close to Pink. The address is Tecumseh. It must be the same one you're thinking because there aren't many around here that have that kind of distance.

I remember seeing pics of yours and thinking "wow, that looks almost identical to mine" lol. I guess we both know how to make a nice lookin stick :)

Holy SH!T. that is GORGEOUS. Im currently active duty AF(Services), doing Palace chase and going back home to Iowa, going to be in the IANG. Switching AFSC's while im at it, going to be SF, going to the school house sometiem this year!! I cant wait! i have been told that since im an E5 and re-training, it will be cake lol.
How much do you have into this if you dont mind me asking!?

Small world indeed. I'm from Ames. I've had the pleasure of meeting Robert (RWS Gunsmithing) multiple times at the gunshows and some build days and full auto shoot gatherings we'd have in Baxter. SF is not a bad career field like some would lead you to believe. I personally love it. People will find anything to be sour about in the military. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that. And yes, tech training in San Antonio will be cake for you as an E5. Just don't tell them you were services lol. Deployment training was the hardest part but the TDY's definitely got it better than us newbies.

Oh and total cost with scope was about $3,400. But without mil discounts would have been around $4,000.

Im actually in Des Moines this weekend for my first Drill with the 132nd SFS. Great group of guys! The CATM guys are all Civilian SWAT members, so they do alot of extra tactical training from what i was told. Should be LOTS of fun!:)

Nice. I know about 5-7 civi DoD employees that work at the 132nd. haha. Interesting to know about the CATM. Maybe I'll shred CATM and go guard at the 132nd...

For every Army regulation, there is an equal and opposite Air Force memorandum of exception.

I need to tweak the thing a little before I get some groups out of it. Right now it's short stroking and I know why. I over loc-tited the gas block and it must've gotten in the gas hole. So once that's done and I do a few other small things I'll post up some groups next year when I get back from overseas haha. fml.
