Leonidas
Sorry to pass on an unsubstantiated report but this is so exciting I can't resist.
see this thread from glock talk; http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=356880
but I'll post the highlights here.
-----------
"I got the skinny today from a reliable unnamed source that Glock will be offering a carbine type weapon in .223, 7.62x39 and 6.5mm Grendel this fall or later this year.
Don't know the price
Don't know how long the barrel is
Don't know if it will take AR/M16 mags
Don't know if there will be a select fire version
But I do know they will sell tons of them. As my screen name says I'll have to have one.
There are no current plans to offer a carbine in handgun calibers at this time. However I do feel there is a market for it. However I'd gladly take a Glock Carbine in 10mm that would use G20 mags or better yet a G18 length mag with 25+ rounds of 41 mag type ballistics. If the Federal Agencies use HK Sub guns in 10mm & some Spec Ops why not Glock?"
he finally revealed his souce:
-----------------
"Ok ...I'll reveal my source. Glock Armor and District Manager Glenn Wisser. He told about 5 of us at the same time while going over upgrades on our pistols. He probably knew more but I believe Glock employee's have to abide by strict confidentiality rules. He didn't say that, however that is my belief. He also referred me to page 6 of the 2005 Glock Annual - look at the center column under Gaston's picture.
quote:Direct quote from Gaston Glock in 2005 Annual . . ."Finally, we invite all GLOCK owners and supporters to stay tuned for new and exciting GLOCK product which will be introduced later this year. Although I cannot disclose further detail about the product at his time, I know you will find it to be equally exciting as the US introduction of our safe reliable and durable pistols in 1986.
With this type of language I really don't think it would apply to anything other than a non-pistol.
