Hi all,
First I want to say that all of the rifles I saw here are BEAUTIFUL. Boy oh boy :-D
Second I want to thank the man, Bill for his 6.5. I have been drooling over this caliber for a little while now.
I am new to the whole AR-15 concept. About a month ago I got crazy sick to put one together from scratch after watching a guy on my range shooting his AR in the 7.62x39. This is what I wanted at first. I did a lot of research on the web and my mind changed. I fell in love with the 6.5 :-) I love it! So two weeks ago I went to the Nation’s Gun Show in Dulles, VA and got almost everything there except for the handguard and the barrel/bolt. Put everything together the same evening and ordered the 18” barrel from AA. I guess I have to wait for 2 to 3 months now :-(
Here is what I have:
Lower – Rock River
Lower kit – generic
Upper – mil spec (unknown; need help identifying)
Upper parts & bolt carrier – generic
Handguard – Yankee Hill (mid length)
I modified the mil spec trigger group from almost 11 lbs to 5 lbs by using the bend-spring-polish-everything job I found on the net. I think I might get the AA trigger once I start shooting my baby and see what I get first.
Cheers,
Mad
