View Thread : hunting bullets for blacktail

NordicG3K
I want to take my Grendel deer hunting this fall. I really like Hornady bullets and was looking at the 129gn SST, but it looks like most people like bullets more in the 100-120gn range for the Grendel. I was also thinking about the Barnes Triple Shock X bullets, but dang those things are expensive! Suggestions?

120 Nosler BT or a Hornady BT

I bet Hornady will field a 120 SST very soon

Because AMAX sucks ass for hunting

I hope so cause that will be a nice bullet. My rifle already likes the 129's

There is a guy in Savannah that uses 130grain SST in .270win to devastate hogs.

@ 3000 fps what is not to like?

I took my rem 760 to the range, and although my zero was screwed, the bark of that sucker made people leave their benches to come and look. :D

the .270win is what the 6.8 will never be.

6.5-06 is supposed to be excellent as well.

Pump guns rock when you have cases that long, in a bolt not so much.

Lifting your cheek between shot is a disadvantage.

Forgetting to in cold weather is an injury that is nasty. :(
