Templar uses blanks that are probably considered as a higher quality and noted for more championships.

And no I will not say who it is, they have an agreement.

They are cut rifle and not Satern.

My 24 inch Satern Barrel shoots 1/2 MOA with preliminary loads with 120 grain TTSX and leverEvolution, at worst. That is the same at least as the 120 Grain Wolf, so I 'm sure it can be improved. I've also got a 16 inch lightweight double fluted Satern that has the flash hider integral to the barrel, so it really has only 14 inches of rifled barrel and the rest is flash hider, I'm still working on that, but have the rifle finished. I've got a 20 inch heavy duty barrel that I haven't married to an upper yet, but I bought it because I'm so happy with the first two. I plan to convert the two longer barrels to gas piston, because they are so accurate to start with. Too bad to lose the cut rifled barrel company. Here is the pic of the 16 on the VLTOR one piece upper.

If we don't know who produces the blanks, how exactly should we "consider" their quality one way or the other? Take your word for it?

The question wasn't "whose barrel should I buy", he already bought the Satern and was asking for relevant experience, not advertisements.

I've got a Satern 18", and it's my favorite. I shoot my best with it (that ain't sayin' much!), even my kids like it.

I'm predicting you'll enjoy it!

thanks for the opinions fellers,
I'm going to use the 18" satern barrel , a Spikes reciever, Les Baer Bolt Carrier,, DPMS Carbon hand guard. This barrel is comes threaded 5/8 x24, thank goodness, easy to find an assortment of muzzle devises. My lower is a Bushmaster , with a Timney. this will be a light carry build, for coyotes, Deer, feral hogs.

Satern barrels in my opinion are the best in the world. Last year at the Nationals ( Camp Perry) they had several of there barrels in the Top 10.

It will be well worth the wait. I have a 24" Saturn that shots so well I still don't believe it. It is hog medicine to the extreme.

My buddy's 24" Satern heavy contour has been printing some .25 MOA groups with 100 grain Noslers and Benchmark. The factory Hornady ammo never shoots worse than 3/4 MOA @ 100. Handloaded 123 SMKs loaded a little hot are a little better than the Hornady at the longer ranges.
