    RL-15 will work and is totally safe. The problem is that it is way too slow so your velocities will also be way too slow.

    Varget, RL-15, 4064, the 4895's bulk density is too low to give you anything with the Grendel cartridge.

    This is why up until 8208 XBR came back on to the market this last year, we used ball powders in the Grendel if we wanted any velocity. 2520, 748, and TAC were probably the most popular ball powders. They have been basically rendered obsolete by 8208 XBR too but will give you much higher velocities than RL-15.

      I tried the Varget and you are dead on about that!

      And I only have 8 lbs. more of 2520 to use up first. lol.

        Save the RL 15 for plinker loads in Grr.,, Like 28.5 for a 120 bullet,, or 29.5 for a 100 grn., or use it in a bolt gun loads. It's a great powder there. Check Alliants website.
