Good looking gun. I particularly like the front of the lower. Looks like that makes for much sturdier takedown pin bosses.

However, I'm scratching my head why they did a proprietary cut on the upper/lower mating surface at the rear of the receivers (looks very AR10-ish). Does this cut preclude attaching either of the billet receivers to an opposing standard, forged receiver? I think it looks great, but for a person who wants just a lower, for example, to attach to an extant upper, is this a non-starter?

Nicely done. Loki says their uppers and lowers are completely M4 compatible, so it appears they are milspec in that regard.

I'm a little taken aback by a lower that costs $450 stripped, though! Unless that price is a complete receiver, and they are just picturing stripped receivers to show available colors?

their forged ones will mate up to anything but the billets like mine are unique to loki ....bates that is compleate

So how do you like the LOKI barrel and rail system? A lot of people on the OK boards really like their products but I haven't had a chance to handle anything yet. I'm thinking about building another AR and was thinking about using one of their barrels and rail systems...you know, support companies. How heavy is that rail compared to say a Midwest Industries or Troy Battle Rail?

the rail is very simular to the yankie hill it fairly light the also offer a carbon fiber one the is a bolt on not a epoxy that ie .5oz but i really like it and the company of course im in close with the company but there are alot of ppl running the rifles in comps nighthawk costoms 3 gun team is even running loki rifles if that tels u anything

Nice! How do you like having that mono pod on your stock?

I've got the same monopod on my PRS and it works great. I'm an amputee with only one arm so it makes rifle shooting possible for me.

There are two types by this manufacturer. One has a quick adjust feature with a button that you press to disengage the screw threads. With the button pressed you just raise or lower the stock to get it close, then let the button go and do your fine adjustments.

Without that you can end up doing a lot of twisting to get it on target.

You have to carefully adjust the bipod legs to get them to the height that allows you to move from one target to another at different ranges without readjusting the bipod, while still being between the bottom and top of the monopod.

They make a long and a short monopod. The short one works best with the PRS stock, although it's adjustment range is shorter, it allows you to get lower to the ground. Unless your bipod legs are long, the long one may be too long to use.

The longer you have the monopod extended, the more wobbly it is. It's no big deal, just take up the slack by pushing a little on it and it's very stable.

It's easier to use than a bag, but not as steady.

jwilson1985, maybe you can help me out with this. I called to order an 18" ss barrel chambered in 6.5 from LWS a couple of weeks ago. Well when I called they said they only had two left and that they would be switching over to the .264lbc soon. After reading about the grendel now being certified by SAAMI (not sure if thats stated correctly) it would surprise me if LWS would quit selling grendel. If you have any knowledge on this I'd love to better understand what going on. I am wanting to order an upper from them here shortly but I'd like to know if it will be a grendel or LBC?
