Now dangit, where did I leave those blankets with the smallpox? Maybe they're back at the base? Oh well, it gets cold up in those mountains, and I'm sure someone will need them...
Just sayin' ;)
Plus, here is another insidious threat:http://www.tactical-life.com/online/news/errant-cat-disables-global-control-system-of-us-uavs-at-creech-air-force-base-outside-las-vegas/?right=news

Holy cat shit, Batman! I knew there was a good reason to stick with manned aircraft. ;) :D
And yet another threat, but this one from the police: http://www.tactical-life.com/online/news/uk-police-want-more-powerful-weapons-like-the-fn-c9-minimi-to-combat-mumbai-style-terror-attacks/??right=news
What'll they want next -- Hellfire missiles?

It's a brilliant tactic which has been used in the past.
Let the enemy get control of the kill zone where you want him to be  ;)
AC-130 anyone?

the police are totally ridiculous. why would you need a belt fed in an urban environment especially when its on your own turf? just think about the collateral damage. accurate rifle fire is all you need. If only whoever trained the BEF were still alive...

A man I worked for several years ago serviced the guns on a (maybe the at the time) Spectre in Vietnam. I'm pretty sure he'd follow the same line of thought as Warped has.
Edit: Having done a little more reading I may be mixing up names. He may have been working on one of the earlier gunships IE Puff or Spooky. Not sure I just always recall him referring to the plane more as a singular than a class and don't know what years he served.

Yeah, John Wayne did that in The Green Berets. ;) :D
But, if that's what was intended this time, somebody must've been asleep at the controls. In the video, the enemy nosed around the camp for awhile, made a couple speeches for the camera, then eventually left without so much as a single incoming round...

Looks like maybe a private was the OIC....
WTF is wrong when an opportunity like that is missed?
It would have made great footage for Al Jazeera

Well, hopefully they took my blankets with them. I'd hate for them to go to waste...

why weren't the ragheads given some claymores as a farewell present?? I'm sure they'd find them tasty, better than getting lead poisoning.
I bet they like surprises

Some modified claymores would have been nice.
Seismic switches are a wonderful thing.
