Just got my first grendel. JP SCR-11 matte black, 22 inch barrel, JP Full Mass operating system. Bipod: Atlas Bipod with 3" leg extensions with LaRue quick detach mount. Monopod: Atlas Accu-Shot 5.65" PRM. Optics: US Optics SN-3 3.2-17 TPAL, 1/4 MOA Erek, Green Illumination, MDMOA reticle, sunshade + ard. JPoint 4MOA. Took a while to get it all finished but it was well worth the wait. Hope you like it.

JP has some nice stuff. I purchased a CTR-02 in 223 last year and have since caught the Grendel bug. Very nice indeed!!!

It's on the left side. It's like a FAL and a G3 mixed together, with a really big folding latch handle. They intro'd this on their .308 rifle a while back, but I didn't know they had built a small action with it.
Nice looking setup. Is the charging handle a fold down handle on the left side?? Just wondering how you'd charge that thing. Also wondering what happened to the magazine release button?? Just curious.

Ya, the charging handle folds down pretty nicely so there is no chance of it snagging anything. O and since i live in California, JP had to send the gun with a bolted 10 round magazine but i just bought a bullet button.

As everyone else has said, excellent rifle.
I do have one question. Is the muzzle brake 6.5mm specific, or is it one of their .308 variants? I assume it kills recoil pretty effectively.

It is the same one that I have for the CTR-02 in 223 except that it is bored out for the 6.5 or .264. JP uses the same large tactical compensator on the 22 in. 223 barrels and up to the 30 cal. and just bores the hole for larger diameter bullets. They can be purchased from JP and installed and bored by your local gunsmith as they are timed. They come threaded in 1/2 x 24 and 5/8 x 24 TPI. Check out the JP web site www.jprifles.com.

I'm building a DPMS LR in .260 rem. and I'm using one of JP's "recoil eliminators" (the ones that look like they belong on a .50bmg). I just chose to use their .308 version in 5/8-24tpi. I was wondering if you had the .308 exit and how well it worked with 6.5mm bullets. I think it'll be fine.
Thanks

If we had a pick for the centerfold of the year, your Grendel would definitly qualify as the sexiest thing I've seen.
