I bought some Hornady 123 SST ammo from a member and while putting at away in my ammo cases I noticed that some had silver primers and some had brass colored primers. Anyone know when or why Hornady changed primers? I guess I'll wait and see if they shoot differently.

Mine didn't shoot any differently that I'm aware of.
Iirc the silver ones showed up a little over a year ago.Knowing everthing isnt as important as knowing where to find it.

The silver primers appeared during the post-Sandy Hook panic. Not sure if that was coincidence, but primers were extremely difficult to get then out of all reloading components.NRA Basic, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, RSO
