    What Shell Holder To Run?

Going with the two die Redding set for the dies. What shell holder are people running with these dies? I know it's the RCBS #32, Hornady #6 and Redding #12 from what I can find? Getting excited to pick up my Grendel next week. Stocking up on powders, and bullets to test out, ordered 100 rounds of factory 123 AMAX and some 123 SST's. Found some CCI 450 primers today. I appreciate all the great information here!

I always match the shell holder brand with the brand of dies I'm using. I've read where people have had problems mismatching.

Do you have 6.5 Grendel Reloading Handbooks yet? The most common issue people run into is not setting the shoulder back far enough, and shell holder matching with the sizing die can play a role in that.

LRRPF52 I do not have a Grendel specific book. I will look into it. I am no expert reloader by any means. I have loaded a lot of 5.56/223, 22-250 and a little 7WSM. Do you recommend a specific grendel book? I would guess I can find a lot of information on the issue here? I see you are from UTAH I also reside here in Lehi.

We'll have to get together sometime. I'm not far from there.

I measured a number of shell holders and wound up grinding down the top surface of an older RCBS holder I owned, to allow the cartridge to fully insert into the die. I found there were some small differences in Height. I use Redding, Lee (came with a holder) , and Hornady dies

I agree with Cory, try to match the manufacturer of die with shellholder.

That said, mine are different manufacturers so I should heed my own advice! As long as your press toggles over centre and you have a way of measuring headspace then it is an inexpensive and low risk.
