    Help! Safety Selector Problem

Just picked up my parts this afternoon and I'm having issues... Installed the Geisselle G2S trigger, works fine. Installed the safety selector, works fine. Install the detent and spring and grip, and the trigger will not fire when the safety is in fire mode... The selector doesn't point straight up, but a little forward even when on fire. The trigger will fire if I force the selector to point straight up. Could the detents be slightly off from where there should be? Has anyone had this problem before? Am I missing something super obvious?

You should be able to see what is making contact with your selector that is messing it up. You did put the correct selector detent pin and spring in didn't you?

Also, reread the instructions that came with your awesome trigger.

They were the only detent pin and spring in the bag with the selector, so I would assume so

I would remove the pistol grip part way to relieve the selector spring pressure and see if this helps. If this helps I would check to see if your selector detent tip looks OK and the spring is not bent. The selector detent is different than the take down pin detents which you should be able to Google an AR-15 schematic to tell the difference. Make sure your selector is installed all the way so the selector detent fits in the grooves correctly. If this doesn't help well try some other ideas.

I pulled the pistol grip off a few times... Even if I just hold the detent tip in with a punch it still has the same problem... I've tried pulling out the detent pin and it looks ok, and the spring is straight... I googled the pin and it looks like I used the right one..

If your selector turns OK with out the detent but wont turn with it in it then I would guess your selectors detent grooves were not cut correctly. What manufacturer made your selector lever?

Is the screw that holds the pistol grip on the rifle going too far into the lower?

It might be too long and interfering with the bottom of the trigger.

I agree with Montana, unscrew the pistol grip and see if that free's-up the safety to work normally.

Its not that is doesn't turn "ok" it just doesn't go quite far enough... If I force is a little past where it stops then the trigger will go. I'll upload a picture in a minute

It does the same thing with or without the pistol grip or spring. If I just hold the detent pin in place with a punch is still behaves the same

Here's where the detent is... If I take the detent out and hold it vertical it works fine.

I would guess the selector grooves for the selector lever detent were machined out of spec. Do you know who the manufacturer was for the selector lever? If you could get another selector lever to try it would answer a lot of questions. If the selector works without the detent in this would be my best guess.
