    6.5G "Imperator" Build underway

I'm being an uberdork and calling my Grendel build the "Imperator"Build. WHy??

Because is sounds damn cool that's why. No real reason, except maybe the bad-ass character Furiosa from Mad Max Fury Road...

Any way, got a Mil-Spec S&W AR-15 lower ready to go and have ordered a Radical Firearms 20" upper. Also being a southpaw I have a Battle Arms Dev. BAD-ASS ambi safety on the way.

    Ordered Luth-AR MBA-1 stock.

Ordered 6.5G mags from Precision Firearms.

    Things I need:

    Scope

    Scope mount

Bipod (have looked at Accu-tac and Atlas, both seem good, and expensive )

Last but not least... 6.5G rounds..

Will update as parts are installed!

Once you've played with it a bit, you should post up your opinions of the Luth AR MBA. I have been looking at it as an alternate to my original plan for my build, the PRS. Read a lot of good things about both online, but first hand accounts are always good.

If your contemplating shooting to 800 yards or more you might consider a 20 MOA scope mount. I'd run out of elevation shooting 1000 yards with my 20" 6.5 Grendel without the canted base. Kind of depends on the elevation your shooting but I do most of my shooting at 350' ASL.

I wish it was. Fantastic movie. Not sure if I would say better than thunder dome, but definitely better than the first.

Will do, I just got it in the mail, waiting on the buffer tube and all that to install on the lower.

iTunes / Apple TV has it, as well.

It's starting to take shape... now the hard part. Waiting. While I'm waiting... any suggestions for glass that can be used out to 800-1000 yards? Mounting recommendations? Larue etc.? Bi-Pods?

New Pics added of Luth Stock and Battle Arms Development Ambi Safety with Hybrid lever!

Mags received from Precision Firearms. Seems pretty solid.

If your budget supports it check out the Leupold VX-6 and Burris XTR II scopes. Vortex Viper, Viper HS and Viper PST have many fans but for me the optical quality of the VX-6 and XTR II trump the Vortex scopes.

Happy Veterans Day! Just got the email from Radical Firearms, my upper has been shipped!! Should have it within a weeks time! Im giddy as hell. Now if I can scrape together the funds for a good optic, mount, bipod (really can do without it if needed) and some 6.5 rounds and off to the range I go!!!

                            Imperator ascended!

IMG_0473.jpgIMG_0474.jpgThe build has been finished! After much fretting about an optic and another Officer in my dept. who shoots long range matches let me try his Vortex Viper PST FFP... and now I run a Vortex Viper PST FFP.. was really not all that savvy on magnified optics to begin with but this optic was easy for me to adapt to.

Harris Bi-Pod. Rounds are here, just waiting on work to slow down a bit so I can zero it and post 100 yard groups with the Radical Firearms 20" upper. Thanks to all for the advice on the gear. I am sure more of you will continue to provide me with valuable information if I run into any problems or issues. Pics!

That optic looks right at home on your build. I think you made a good choice, looking forward to your range report.

Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.
