    Big northwest louisiana buck down

Thought I would share this with the horde.

Not a grendel kill but I'm still happy bout it.

Grandfathers rem 700 caliber 270, round 130 grain winchester soft points, ranged with laser 361 yards, one shot dirt nap.

One pic shows bullet placement behind ear in upper neck, not the lil amount of blood bullet entered and mushroomed on neck bone breaking the neck and causing a long dirt nap

My favorite shot to take...sure puts them down fast. Plus no meat damage.

Congrats. That's an impressive shot for 361yds, to hit the neck like that.

I grew up on .270 Winchester in a pre-64 Model 70. Great rifle.

Thank you LRRPF52, I wouldnt never have tryed that shot if I didnt have such confedence in that rifle it has always been a tack triver. My longest kill with it was 412 yards so I knew it was doable.

I keep that rifle set on a 300 yard zero. I paid for making that shot though lmao had to drag his big butt almost 900 yards back to the truck.

Thanks too all for the nice words on my buck and the shot I made with my grandfathers rifle.

Sadly that will be the last kill with that rifle, I took the family out last night to enjoy a night on the town only to get home and find my truck was broke into and my two fav rifles had been stolen.

I dont really care they stole my 308 but grandpaws gun is a diffrent matter all together, Im sick to my stomach still, losing that rifle feels like I lost him again.

There aint no amount of pain I could cause the trash that stole that gun that would equal what im feeling right now.

GOD I hate theifs and liers.

Great deer and shot. I hate to hear that someone broke into your truck and stole your Grandfather's rifle. Hopefully you will get it back somehow, and the thief will get their just rewards....

What State was that in? That is low.

You reported the serial numbers and descriptions?

Here in louisiana, and yes sir all proper info has been given to the police and the local gun shops and pawn shops have been put on notice.

See where I live is kind of back in the woods on a dead end not may neibors, but we had a young couple move in not to far back up the road from me and I know them from around the bars when I use to drink and run the roads and they are known drunks and drug addicts. So the cops went to talk with them first but they arent around all of a sudden.

I have high hopes that my grandfathers rifle can be found and whoever it was better hope the cops get them.

Great deer and a super shot! Sure hate to hear about the rifle, hope the cops find it soon for you! I wish some of your big northern deer would find their way south to our swamp donkey deer! :-)
