    PF's Criterion Barrels

Has anyone out there built one of these?

I remember when PF made these available and would think they would be a very nice alternative to the entry level barrels available from other vendors, but I haven't found any reviews on them on the forum.

There are a lot of threads running for barrel advice, but I'm not seeing these mentioned much.

I was curious about these as well. Was gonna build my BIL a grendel on one of these but he changed his mind and went with 556. Long story there! Maybe Mark will chime in about the accuracy he seeing out of these. If not just call him, he's a straight shooter.

Thanks Richard. I'll probably be calling him when I go with an upgrade to my Shilen. I'm just surprised that we haven't seen any build reports on these while there seems to be plenty of traffic on other entry level barrels. Here's their comment when they started selling the barrels:

        PrecisionFirearms

"First Reports on these barrels are very good. All have been Sub 1 inch groups so far and the average is less than .7 with all ammo's. Personal test was .6 MOA with ease, bipod, no bags, 100 yards."

It seems like for about another $100, a guy would be getting a lot of peace of mind.

Mark told me "Get the Criterion Barrel for maximum Accuracy on a less than $600 Barrel." So I did. Unfortunately, it's not here yet or I'd give you a range report. I figured if he recommended it, it was good enough for me.

I have a PF chambered 16 inch Criterion barrel on order from Mark. I should be receiving it soon. All the components for the build are waiting patiently for this barrel.

Any new feedback on these? I'm thinking about the 20" Criterion in the EL V-1 upper for my first Grendel. I don't reload and will be purchasing PF ammo as well. What are you guys shooting and how are they performing?

My Criterion barrel and bolt from PF has shipped and I should have it on Monday. It may be a couple of weeks before I can assemble the rifle. Planting spring wheat is the top priority now. Unless it rains :-).........

Planting is much more fun in the spring with the rain, mud, snow and wind. To darn nice in September.
