    sarco 20" heavy barrel blank

the el-cheapo sarco 20" 6.5 barrel blank came in today.

for such a cheap part it looks very good-- the chamber is fairly generous on this one , since i ordered a barrel nut from another vendor i can not tell 100% , the chamber it it looks a lot like a 264LBC--- --when i get the barrel extension and the headspace i'll be sure --

the barrel has no markings and is in the white. looks to have 1-9" twist

5/8 on the muzzle brake FH--

as typical sarco you all ways get a little extra-- in this one the barrel is 20-1/2"

that would not be a problem other than that 1/2" sticks out past the FH threads-- sort of like a nipple on a baby bottle--? LOL

a FH would have to fit over it and it necks down to very small thickness--

i'm just gonna cut it back to 20" and re-crown it-- then a FH will fit fine.

looks like a good deal for a roll your own if you up on this kind of work.

i gonna have this turned down to an A2 type profile and parked.

this might take a while -- i got plenty of 6.5s to shoot in the mean time-- sort of a vietnam era knock off in 6.5g--lol

these 20" in 4140 are grendel chambered

got a solid no go on my 264 bolt -- chambered and ejected perfectly with the grendel bolt. so now i gots to buy another grendel bolt--lol

after i cut off the e 1/2" of nipple they left after the muzzle i found out that a 9-16 or 5/8-24 are both two big-- a standard 5.56 FH fits perfectly well.
