    2nd upper for the AR

I built an M4 about 3 years ago in 300 BLK, intended as a short to midrange CQB and target rifle. The BLK works well for me out to 300 yards with 155 Sierra Palmas, and really well with 125 AMAX in CQB.

I wanted something for further out, so I built a Grendel upper. All I need is a scope, and that will be here mid-week. My parts list is:
Mega forged upper and lower receivers (both)
    CMMG parts
Spikes Tactical Gunfighter charging handle (both)
    Geissele HSNM DMR trigger
    Hogue pistol grip
    Magpul ACS stock
    AIM Surplus NiB BCG (300BLK)
Rainier Special Match SS 16" barrel 1:8.5 (300BLK)
Wilson Combat adjustable gas block (BLK)
    Geissele 9.5" Mk4 rail (BLK)
    AAC flash suppressor (BLK)
Redfield Counterstrike 2 MOA red/green dot with axial laser (BLK)
    Odinworks BCG (Grendel)
Odinworks SS 20" barrel 1:8 (Grendel)
    Odinworks adjustable gas block (Grendel)
Geissele 13" MkII Mod 1 rail (Grendel)
Precision Firearms LMD muzzle device (Grendel)
Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50 scope (Grendel)

Only picture I have is past limits for posting. I'll try again when I get the scope and make other pictures.

Looks like a nice upper, C&L. I suspect that you'll enjoy that scope. I have three, so far, and am quite certain quite a bit of additional cash would be needed to get something significantly better. Only one of them has an illuminated reticle, and that has never been put into play. I suppose that it is because the areas I could use it are so remote, I hesitate driving in and out of them in darkness due to hazards and BLM regulations. To each, their own.

On the other hand, I think you're only forestalling the inevitable by building an upper for another weapon's lower. Kinda like sharing your car with your roommate, if you know what I mean.

Looking forward to seeing your pictures. If you want to get past the size limitation, post your pictures to a site like PhotoBucket and link to them from here.
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

          Very nice.

When posting photos from my phone, I email them to myself and it will ask whether to send it original size or smaller.
I choose the smaller, and then resave it to photos.

Finally figured out resizing my pictures. Here's the Grendel and BLK living together in their case.

I do the same with a 16" BLK upper and a 18" 233 Wylde on 1 quality lower and a 24" 223 Wylde and a 24" Grendel on a quality lower. I like the idea of splitting the cost of a really good lower and have 2 great guns. Let's you spend a little more on 1 quality trigger. Nice set!

I as well do the same. I usually pair a pinned and welded 14.5" 5.56 with one of the 6.5 G uppers. That way I have some options all in one case. I don't have the cool cutouts in my rifle case though!

That is what is going to happen with my Eberlestock pack. One lower, two uppers.
