I sent in only 40 pcs of fired brass at which point they replied and said it was only for unfired ammunition. They are still sending me a check for 20 rds which comes up to $13.99 + postage. If it had been clear it was only for unfired ammunition I would have kept the brass. Although, I didn't really want to buy large rifle primers for only 40 cartridges.

I got my check for my unfired brass last Friday. I didn't have a receipt and got quoted $55 plus shipping to them.

Hmmm... I didn't know it was for unfired ONLY. Disappointing to put that much brass in the recycle can.

I wouldn't throw any of it away until I was convinced it wouldn't work. I would size down a couple of pieces then see if they chamber and extract easily. If so, I would shoot them then inspect them for excessive stretching or wear.

                +1 !!

Also, keep us posted on what is learned. We don't know what truly triggered the recall so knowing how the stuff we actually have in hand behaves is useful information for all of us.

They do chamber and extract flawlessly... I had to empty a couple (like 60) and didn't have the appetite or patience to pull bullets, etc. Made for a fun day at the range.

I had one 20 round box I shot before the recall. Had the fired brass bagged and hadn't gotten around to sending it in so good to hear it's unfired only. I had no problems but one piece coughed up its primer. Hearing nothing else I guess I'll throw it back in the reloading bin.

I sent in 100 rounds of brass, half fired, half unfired. Quit using it because primers blew out on the first and second loads of the new brass. Got email yesterday that my brass had been received and they are sending me 60 rounds of new 45/70 Govt ammo (They didn't have anything else I needed and 45/70 ain't cheap). Waiting for UPS to show up.

Received my new 60 rounds of 405 grain jacketed soft point 45/70 ammo today. I think I got the better end of the deal.
