WTS AP Customs Carbon Fiber Handguard 12"

    SOLD

new from Brownells this was $156, 4" rail was another $26, $182 into it plus shipping cost.

    $125 shipped to your door.

It's in good shape, some wear marks on rail, see photo. The hand guard is super light weight, with barrel nut it's under 6oz. One thing I really like about this hand guard is the mounting design. Very easy to install and getting the gas tube lined up is KISS simple. Nicely designed.

I might be interested. But I have a question: Do I need to take out the original barrel nut to install this handguard?

Yes, this comes with a proprietary barrel nut. If you have more questions or would like addition pics to clarify, let me know.

65W--- do you have a pic of the bbl. nut? What tool is needed to install the bbl. nut? I may be interested. Text me if having trubbz posting pics like me.

Tools needed to install, 1-1/4" wrench or a 10" adjustable wrench and T15 Torque screw driver.

          Installation:
          1) The barrel nut is just that, an 1-1/4" nut. Because of the staggered hole on the barrel nut it's easily to torque down and align the gas tube. 2) the sleeve is slid over the Barrel nut and secured with four torque screws. 3) The handguard slips over the sleeve and is secured with remaining six torque screws. Done.

It's the simplest hand guard I've used to install, especially when lining up the gas tube.

Outer diameter of HG? Was the nut blue Loctited on, or only grease on threads? Nice setup.

If blue glued, Kroil will soften it to room temp butter- to release it from bbl. No biggie Steam burn.

BFT., watched me install his Faxon bbl.,,, with a 2' long crescent wrench-- that he bought from local store, after our 3 hr search- due to his lack of reading instructions in -3 weeks in advance., to get the proper crow foot wrench ordered. The crow-

It has the 1/2" slot for the torque wrench.,,,, oh well. Improvise

Luckily, I had a digital torque wrench here to test- compare--- try to mimic the 50 ft. lbs. we were after.

After 20 minutes of practice- we went for the prize. Everything lined up perfectly---.0001 in specs! Bft is still wondering how the Wizard does this - Hee hee! More Heeeeee hee!

Easily 45-55 ft. lbs. It felt good. It shoots good. ----- If I shoot it---------- more Hee hee! It's permatexted to the Max. It's awesome.

              Same setup as mine.

6.5W--- just trying to help you sell this dude. It looks awesome cool.

Can the rail section be mounted on the front end of the tube rather than the back as shown in the pics?

Yes, it can be mounted anywhere up and down the tube, 3,6,9 o-clock, but not at 12 o-clock. Which is why it's for sale.
