    Failure to feed?

    Folks,

I had my Grendel out to the range today (and, as an aside, it sure is cold over here on Bill's side of the mountains). I tried running it with my TBAC 30P1, but that didn't work. Lots of issues with that.

After I took the suppressor off, I was still experiencing failure to feed issues. I was using Hornady 123 gr AMAX rounds, the the plastic points were jammed/bent when a malf occurred.

Any thoughts on what could be the issue? I'm running an H1 buffer with a 16 inch BHW barrel and, I think, a carbine length gas system.

On the plus side, I was able to get hits on steel out to 900 yards. At 1000 yards, the snow was swallowing my misses and my wife couldn't spot my misses to give me a good wind correction.

Do you have an adjustable gas block? Did you have similar malfunctions with and without the suppressor? Were the magazines being used new? Have you blended the feed ramps?

Pictures of the feed ramp / chamber area and of the malfunctions you were experiencing will help the horde help you.

This rifle doesn't have an adjustable gas block. I did have malfunctions with the suppressor removed. Brand new Alexander Arms magazines were used, I tried several different ones.

I didn't do any work on the feed ramps. I'll try to get pictures of the feed ramps and chamber area. I'll also get back to the range and get pictures of the malfunction if I can.

I think that barrel is a MLGS, if it's the one I'm thinking of.

        Double check that for us.

        How cold was it?
