    1st Grendel Build

Finally took the time to officially join the forum and share my learning experiences with my latest AR-build. Hats-off to all the guys who share their knowledge with others, like me, as I was able to just read and read to my hearts content on Grendel-content. So far, I only have a few rounds down range to check functions and reliability. Perfect feeding, cycling, ejection through my various modded-ASC magazines. Soon, will have more rangetime to zero new scope and test 120+gr factory rounds.
Glad to be part of the community and look forward to the journey.

    Components:

    Noveske (Upper, Lower, NSR Handguard)
Alexander Arms 18" lite barrel (4.5 weeks order-to-door)
    Alexander Arms Bolt
    Aim Surplus Phosphate Carrier
    Geiselle SD-E 2-stage trigger
    Mapgul FDE Furniture
    Superlative Arms Adjustable GB
    ADM Recon
    Trijicon Accupower 3-9x40

Nice Build. Does the Grendel bolt just replace the 5.56 bolt in the bolt carrier?

+1, nice looking build. That is the barrel I am thinking of getting for mine.

Yup. I am using a NIB WMD carrier for mine (with matching cam pin and firing pin) and the group buy bolt.

Ranger4x4-I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the AA Lite Barrel used in this build. If you're still on the fence, like I was at the time of purchase, I actually called to speak to fine folks at AA to get some questions answered. Originally, I was quoted a total build/wait time b/w 4-6 weeks and I'm sure you can imagine the agonizing wait! Upon receipt and thorough inspection, I'm glad I waited for the AA barrel as the it looked very well made - no burs, discoloration, or any imperfections seen with my untrained eyes. Only thing I had to do was set a small dimple for the adjustable gas block I used (AAC can in the future). Can't go wrong with AA.

That is a sweet looking piece. Nice job.... should shoot like a champ. Much nicer than my budget build.

Waiting for the gun fund to refill has AA playing chicken with Faxon if they get their barrels to market in a decent time and depending on what they are.

Push come to shove I would prefer a steel QPQ barrel to a silver SS barrel. I love my Faxon x39 barrel.

The answer is yes to the bolt going in a standard AR bolt carrier

Nice build. I was thinking about going with the AA 18" barrel but I figured I will go with the 16" since I probably wont be going past 600 yards.
