    Optic mount suggestions

I'm ordering the vortex viper pst gen 2 and was looking at the vortex precision 30mm 20moa mount.

I can get it for $174 but was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations on something that might be better at the same or better price.

The LaRue Tactical LT145 is a fine option. The VFZ mount option is $160 but I really like their QD mounts. Very solid.

Those Vortex mounts are built like tanks. I installed one for a neighbor's Grendel, and it was beefy, lots of purchasing area for the rings, plenty of clamping force even at low torque settings.

I personally like the NightForce Unimount, but they are in the mid/high $200 range. They are worth it.

I have a LaRue VFZ I'm selling with ring options for 1", 30mm, and 34mm. 30mm and 1" rings are new in the wrapper.

I'm also selling my ADM Recon Mount, but neither have 20 MOA. They make for great hunting and mid-range set ups.

Yah I've looked at your recon mount several times and I doubt I will ever need the 20moa but I don't ever want to be in the situation where I do so im pretty set on the 20moa mount. Thanks for the review on the vortex mount.

          Short answer is YES!
I have lapped every mount I have owned for quite some time now - You will be surprised how bad some can be.

Aw shit really!? I've never lapped mine even though I have the tools because I thought I would be silly to... geeze you'd expect a ONE PIECE mount from a reputable manufacturer to be in perfect alignment! Seriously!? Ugh these are the things that keep me up at night.

EDIT: I like my ADM 20MOA (Think it's the Recon) mount, although I wish there was a cheaper version without the QD because those handles are just extra weight and bulk that I don't need.
