    6.5 Grendel Noob checking in

Hi, new to the 6.5g, but not to ARs and firearms in general.
Got my 1st Colt HBAR in the 80s, and been loving them ever since.
I generally build my own stuff now, including a recent Blackout build.
My shooting buddies wanna go long range (1000 yard range just opened up near us)
and one of them just bought a nice RPR in 6.5 Creedmore and the other has a nice .308.
I can't afford the RPR and figure the cheapest way for me to join them is with a 24" Grendel upper.
I've got a 24" target crowned Bartlein barrel on order from Precision Firearms, as well as a Viper PST Gen 2 5-25x50. Unfortunately both are back ordered for at least a couple months.
The lower I'm going to put it on is already built for long range, with a PRS stock and a SSA-E trigger.
Haven't decided on an upper yet, learning towards the slickside Mega billet one.
Gonna be starting out with the 123g Hornady ELD factory ammo, and then I'll eventually add a set of dies to my current reloading collection and start rolling my own. I'm glad to see CFE223 works well; I've got tons on hand!
This forum has been great so far; I've learned alot by searching out relevant topics and reading the threads - nice to be here!

Welcome. Sounds like you on your way to some fun at the range. I wish I had a decent long range available close by Huntsville Alabama. Let us know how your Grendel does at the 1k.
