    Need Muzzle Brake Suggestions

I have a Loki .264LBC with a stainless 18" Liberty (pretty sure) barrel. I ordered it with a Hogue free float handguard several years ago and initially it was great. Unfortunately it has no way to attach anything and is a bit bulky. I bought a new MI free float rail with MLOK so that solves one problem but then I noticed the lo-pro gas block seems to be leaking.

I figure that while I had the handguard off for the swap and have to potentially remove the current A2 flash hider to change out the gas block I might as well look at putting a new muzzle device on. The A2 flash hider works as it should but I want something stainless to match the barrel and something that will minimize muzzle rise to get back on target as fast as possible.

So, I'm looking for something that comes in stainless and gets me back on target faster. I'm not positive of the thread pitch for the Liberty barrels. Any suggestions? I'm not exactly rolling in extra funds so it's gotta be on the affordable side of the price curve. Assuming such an animal even exists. Help?

Brandi there might not be anything wrong with your current gas block. I've seen the gas blocks leak a little then seal off with carbon. If the rifle still functions the gas block might be fine. If your swapping gas blocks to go an adjustable gas block please ignore my post.

If your 18" barrel is over gassed because of a large gas port this might contribute to the leakage. If the gas block appears to be functional I'd probably clean the barrel and gas block and reinstall. I put blue Locktite on my barrel before installing my gas block and make sure to align the gas block properly. I let the Lockktite cure before shooting.

I have a 9/16 x 24 Satern Helioplex that will soon be of no use to me as I broke down and ordered an FDE PF LMD the other day - but I have no idea how long it will take (I don't know if I have to wait for them to Cerakote it). PM me if your interested - I was just going to throw it in my spare parts box so I can let go of it for a fraction of what it cost. It does have a few scratches....

Now I just have to grow the balls to attempt to Duracoat the barrel black myself
        Let's go Brandon!

So what is the verdict? Have you had a chance to fire it?

Yes I have and I'm more than pleased with it! By far the most simple brake instal I've ever done. Very easy to time perfect. Recoil reduction is VERY noticeable. At 600 yards with my 7.5lbs 16" Grendel I can rapid fire respectably and keep the crosshairs on the target. Looks great to boot!

Yea.... my barrel is 1/2" - 36 otherwise it would work great.

It was a typo on Classic's web site. I should have known.

Bought the Odin and one of their adjustable gas blocks. I have their BCG & bolt and both are top-notch. I'm really impressed with their quality. If I were building from scratch I think that is the direction I'd go.
