    My Amazon reloading shopping cart

This will be my first purchase as far as reloading goes. I got some Amazon gift cards which is why I'm purchasing from there. If anyone knows of anything that costs the same or less but would work as well or better let me know.

I'm not sure what case trimmer I need for the grendel so advice on that would be good to.

    Thanks

Bigs, I think I need your login and password to view your cart.

While you're at it, send me your credit card info too, so I can add the things you need.

I have the Little Crow WFT (worlds finest trimmer) and really like it. One thing that you have to realize with it is that it indexes off of the case shoulder. If you have multiple rifles in the same caliber you should really segregate the brass from each rifle as the brass is fire formed to each chamber. Not really a big deal but something that each user should know going into it. I also used the Lee trimmer which worked fine but it took so much more time and effort to trim any quantity of brass. The Little Crow made reloading a little easier.

It's not gonna show your cart unless you're logged in with that user name. You can share a wish list.

I was looking at those retro. My question is do I need a case trimmer, chamfer, or deburring tool right away or can I get by without one for a while. Costs are adding up. I have 300 pieces of once fired brass.

You might be OK without a trimmer. You'll need to measure your re-sized case length. AA's reload data sheet says minimum length is 1.52" and maximum is 1.526". SAAMI's max case length is 1.52" and the minimum distance to the end of the neck in the chamber is 1.53". So, if your resized cases are less than 1.526", you should be good to go.

I'd say go ahead and get a chamfer/deburr tool. By the way, I also use the Lee trimmers. Chuck it up in a drill or cordless screwdriver and it's not bad.

                      Here's some thoughts:

Redding dies seem fairly expensive. I've always used Hornady dies (and presses) for everything I load. Having never used Redding, I can't speak to whether they are worth the extra cost. Seems like LRRPF52 has mentioned Hornady dies a few times. And they usually offer a rebate for some free bullets.

You could actually wait on the tumbler if your total cost outlay is an issue. I use one, but it's mostly because I like pretty brass.

I've actually started using Lee dippers more often than throwing charges and trickling them up. I do use the dippers to get close and then trickle out of the dipper to hit the right weight.

These are simply my opinions. There are plenty of threads here discussing the relative merits of one component versus the next. Good luck with your choices.

I would invest in an LE Wilson Case Gauge off the bat. Probably can't get it from Bezos, but it will take a lot of guesswork out of your brass sizing and some potentially big frustrations as you get going. It's possible to learn reloading with Grendel, but I loaded a lot of revolver rounds and then bolt 308 before I started reloading for semi auto rifle and then still made my share of mistakes. I wasted a lot of time trimming Grendel cases unnecessarily short before I got a Wilson gauge. And I hAte trimming brass.

Brownells carries them and you can also get them direct from LE Wilson.
                        Let's go Brandon!

                          The tumbler is not necessary.
