Got a chance to take the Grendle out on a late night date last night, or should I say this morning. She sure was sweet to me.
We pulled up to the Hog Farm and the field we were scoping had lots of deer and no hogs or yotes. I put the Fox Pro out and started off with a "piggy distress" call hoping to call in one of the yotes that we heard off in the distance. Them yotes were held up in the woods and wanted no part of that little piggy. Off to the left at about 200 yards came 2 pigs working the wood line towards us. We grabbed our Grendels and headed out towards them knowing the wind was in our favor. We set up our trigger sticks 60 yds dead in front of them and needless to say those guys did not like the taste of 123gr. amax . My first shot of the night yielded one of those two hogs that are laying together. My hunting buddy and I both made head shots on the 2 and down they went. That's a good feeling to know that your equipment is performing as planned.
The Yote in the pic was shot on the run at about 200 yds. I just got lucky on that dude. He was haulin butt to my right and I led him a bit and down he went. That shot was all luck.
All in all we had 4 hogs and that one Yote to show for. Arrived home at around 7am and now I'm at work planning on sneaking in a nap when the boss isn't looking. Who you foolin Willis, I am the boss.
