    What hunting sling ?

curious as to which brand/make of sling you guys are using for your hunting 6.5's and how you have 'em rigged up? I'm in the market for one for my carbine rig. Thinking about getting one that allows the gun to be carried out in front yet can be used to sling over the shoulder as well.

    TIA

Mountain Stalker, I have one on every long gun I own. Call Tom Rock and ask for the "old style" with snaps.

I prefer a quick-adjust 2-point sling for about everything I do with a rifle or carbine. They are very user-friendly, can change from a carry or patrol sling to a shooting sling in a snap, and allow you to adjust the sling to whatever clothing, gear, or position you desire, to include placing on your back and securing tightly when working.

I use a Magpul MS3. Can be used as a 1 or 2 point and adjusted in 1 second. I use it as a 1 point sling with the QD end attached to the stock and keep the rifle down by my side. Since I usually have a climber on my back this works best for me by far. I also wrap it around the horns to drag deer. I was surprised the polymer clip has held up to pulling that much weight but it has with no issue so +1 for the quality.

+1 for Vickers w quick adjust - great for whitetail spot and stalk along the edges of river bottoms and crop land. Good front balance with a backpack full of predator calls, etc.

This the Vickers u guys mentioned above? looks like a nice one to me.

Shop Vickers slings from Blue Force Gear, the rifle sling of choice: AR15, AR, AK, AK47, padded, 2 point, single point, bungee, and more weapon slings.

I have that one on one of my lightweight AR's, but my Grendel is alittle heavier, so I like the padded version for the heavier stuff. The adjustablity of the vickers is great when wearing heavy coats in the morning and taking it off later, just a quick slide puts it right back where you want it.

cool beans, thanks..... I'll try one out. if I look in my "sling drawer" in the shop I probably have at least half a dozen slings sitting in there and I don't like any of them. time for an upgrade!
