I can buy 2.5 new lilja barrels and still be money ahead by buying steel cased at 9k rounds based off the numbers in the link. Granted, I will probably be hard pressed to get to that number count in my rifles anyway. What that article is actually saying is treat the barrel as a wear item that WILL NEED periodic replacement just like your gas rings and springs.
