    CFE Pistol

Following the success of CFE 223, Hodgdon Powder Company has released a new addition to the CFE (Copper Fouling Eraser) line of propellants. Hodgdon's new CFE™ Pistol, a general purpose handgun powder, is designed to deliver less copper fouling. CFE Pistol is a spherical (ball) powder that meters very well.

This powder was discussed here when it was first announced.
FYI, I emailed Hodgdon with questions about using CFE223 & LeveRevolution with the Grendel. I was somewhat surprised by their response. My email: Dear Sir I’ve been using CFE223 when reloading for the 6.5 Grendel with good results, thank you. Because of the current shortages of CFE223 I was going to try

Has anyone had a chance to get their hands on some and try it out. Looking at Hogdgen's reloading data for 45 ACP, this powder blows away all of those that came before.

I shoot thousands of rounds of 40 S&W every year in my STI pistol. Copper fouling has never been a problem in my pistol. Tite group works best for me especially for the cost and accuracy. If the cost and accuracy is there I would be willing to give it a shot. "No Pun intended".

Montana, I'm, like you, not worried about copper fouling. My interest comes from randomly looking at Hogdgen's Load data. For instance, Hogdgen lists CFE Pistol at 155 fps faster than Titegroup, when comparing max loads.

any loads for 44mag? its the only caliber I have ever seen copper on. Shooting a 10.5" barrel causes that I guess.
