  • What manufacturers Bolt Carriers do you like?

I asked this question in my thread on Midway/ Shilen barrels. In order to get a larger recommendation list from Y'all, I figured I'd post a new thread.
I want a simple mil-spec, duty type carrier with all the inspections and up to date metals and treatments. I'm kind of leaning towards the Fail Zero Exocarrier, exotreated with their nickel/boron coating. I know this is an almost impervious treatment as the cylinders in my BMW motorcycle are Nickasil coated.
A couple of you guys (THANKS!) from the other post recommended Maxim Firearms carriers. they sound good too. I need just the carrier as my Shilen barrel came with a matched, Head spaced bolt. I'm fairly certain Frank @ Maxim would accommodate me Judging your comments.

Standard mil-spec: Bravo Company (they used to sell a DLC version that was really trick and slick as sn-t.)

Young Manufacturing NM chromed bcg is my favorite. They show absolutely zero finish wear.

I've had bad luck with nickel/boron flaking off. I don't like anything with a nickel finish, boron, teflon, etc. The best bolts I've used so far are the new Phalanx ones from Precision, same thing, the finish appears to be bomb proof.

I like JP Rifle Stainless Steel Low Mass Carrier, but they also have a full mass Carrier too. They finish with a quench polish quench process so there is no Chrome plating or Nib to wear. Top quality and affordable. One time purchase, mine has over 1,500 rounds and looks brand new. All I ever do it wipe it off with an old sock, my cleaning rag, and nothing else.
