    Custom 6.5

Had her done for a couple months now. Finally got the pic uploader figured out.

    Spike's Tactical lower receiver
    Hogue grip
    RRA NM 2 stage trigger
Mega billet side charging upper receiver
    Young Mfg carrier
    Magpul UBR stock
    ST T2 buffer
BCM Mod 4 (med) charging handle
    Samson Mfg Keymod extended handguard
Shilen Match barrel HBAR contour 20"
    YHM clamp-on GB
Leupold VX-III 4.5-14X50mm Long Range scope
    TPS mounts
    Harris bipod on GG&G mount

    Shooting factory Hornady 123gr SST @ very consistent 2505 fps. Easily sub-MOA, 1/2 to 3/4 in. @ 100yds, under 1 1/2 @ 200yds off bipod. Very pleased so far!

Nice build. How does the YHM bolt match with the Shilen barrel and chamber? Have you checked headspace, or did one of them refer you to the other?

Nice gun I trying to decide if I should swap my barrel out for that one or go with one of the barrels from PF.

Thanks! Actually, it's a Young Manufacturing carrier with supplied Shilen bolt. My mistake, meant carrier not bolt. Gonna edit, it was late. Thanks for helping fix my pic too. I've got some better ones but the pixels are too big.

I'm really pleased with this barrel. Shoots lights out as far as I can tell. Had to put barrel in freezer and warm up the receiver and still had to use a block and mallet. Gave up on Satern after 14 mos. Found this in stock @ Midway. It was time to get to shooting. Only real complaint was my brass was getting worked on pretty hard. I've got a 100 ct of Lapua to load after I get through my 5 boxes of Hornady. Didn't want to tear up that expensive brass so I polished the feedramps out with Flitz to a mirror polish. Smoothed up the sharp edges on AA mag too. Actually cut my fingers loading the mag before. Brass perfect now. Barrel is heavy contour HBAR. Scope is heavy, UBR is heavy, billet upper is heavy. Weighs over 10 lbs loaded, but can shoot offhand plenty fine still.

Nice! I have the same Shilen barrel and was point-n-click at 300 yards with it . I have the side charging Mega Billet with the YN Bolt carrier but I decided to save it for another build. I used another side charging Mega billet upper with an Alexander Arms Bolt carrier. The barrel and upper fit perfectly without heat or cold. Enjoy your toy!
