    M-Lok or KeyMod?

I'm curious on the Horde's thoughts on these mounting systems. What would/are you choosing and why?

I have two keymods, like them over quad rails. Not sure how the M-lok works yet, I think my next one will be one to see how it works. I think M-loks are more adjustable laterally rather than locking into a certain key slot.

Liked the idea of Keymods, and was initially opposed to a competing standard. But after learning more about M-Lock, background on testing, advantages, etc, I'm sold on M-Lock.

      Short version:
      - Improved strength/manufacturability when across wide range of materials
      - Reversible
      - No adjacent clearance required to mount
      - Less critical machining and tooling required
      - Magpul market reach & product release rate

With the ALG M-Lock tubes becoming available that's what I'll be running if not an MOE M-Lock.

I have been looking into the exact same question. It looks as though the M-Lok will soon enough have many more and cheaper accessories.

MLok is what I'm going with, you can put items on half way or go full section. MLok is free to those mfgs that want in no license fee to use pattern. You have aluminium rails or polymer rails on market. Magpul has introduced a few new MLok attachments IE: AFG, MVG, offset optic mount, rail covers, Qd mount, bipod mount, large selection of MLok rail adapters.

          Surge - Rugged Suppressor
Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.

They also sell the nut/bolt kit for mlok. So, anything that has two holes (correctly sized) is now Mlok. Which is handy.

Many good details on the differences on m4c. Rich from Magpul even weighed in on their design decisions. Biggest issue is that keymod is very difficult to make work with polymer due to the angled cuts. And that same factor makes M-lock very strong even when implemented in aluminum. Just larger bearing surfaces, and a different type of bearing surface. (Beveled key vs flange behind the cut, etc.)

No slight to the keymod designers, I just don't think they were thinking as broadly. Nor for wide scale usage. (More niche usage)
