I shot a 338 Lapua with an I think Elite Iron suppressor that was so quiet you didn't need hearing protection. A 300gr Sierra at 2700 fps really nocks steel at 200 yards ridiculously hard!

It generally breaks steel at 200 yards!

It tore the plate loose from the chains it was hanging on. The individual whose range I was shooting on had the plates hanging on hooks so they would come off instead of breaking the chains.

I have two different load worked up right now. A 285 gr Hornady projectile with 86.5 grains of H1000 behind it. Getting 2715 fps with that load. Second load is a 300 gr Berger with 93 grains of Retumbo behind it. Haven't been able to get any data with it yet on the Magnetospeed. Will be working up a load with the 285's using Retumbo as it has been not advised to run the H1000 thru my new can.

The 300 gr Berger penetrated a 1" thick piece of steel at 200 but not a complete pass through. If it would have been an FMJ, I think it would have made it no problem.
