    Northern MN Grendelized buck

Shot this one last November finally got around to messing with the video. Video using my ATN shot trak. Was getting close to sunset and overcast. Sorry for the shakiness as I was in a position where I couldn't use my chair and was in an odd half standing half sitting the position. Video was over 5 minutes (650 MB) but I cut it down to what I thought was most interesting. I also cut back on the quality so that I could show it on my phone to some friends. He dropped just out of the picture about 30 yards from the shot. Using 123gr Hornady SST he was ~100 yards when I shot.

Nice buck! Great footage... I love watching bucks tend their scrapes and such.

Yeah, that's why I left that in there. The entire video shows him walking in from the neighbors field with the does in it and working his way over to the tree and back. Most people whom watch it can't believe I waited so long to shoot but I was really enjoying watching him through the scope (Razor HD gen 2, great glass). Was the first deer I had seen actually on the property opening day so it all went well.

Congrats! I also enjoy watching the animals more than anything else-always have. It feels like cheating to me with a rifle most of the time.

I didn't see that other deer until they bolted.

What barrel length was that? Factory or hand load?

Are you using an adjustable gas block, and did you measure your port diameter before installing the gas block? Just wondering what's working for you.

A lot of the 18" MLGS barrels are ported with a .094" port for some reason, when they should be smaller, like .076".

I'm running a non-adjustable Geissele gas block. I didn't measure anything before assembly. Blew air through to make sure everything was working during assembly. I've put nearly 200 rounds through it maybe more.

Nice job App! Gotta love watching them just before you take your spot. I find myself doing the same thing at times.
