The Horde is a greedy bunch and they feed on Grendel pics and range reports. All kidding aside, sound like you've had an excellent introduction to the Grendel. Welcome to the Horde.

When looking for my first AR I was in a similar situation, didn't want the added weight and recoil of the AR-10, the 5.56, not enough boob but the Grendel was just right. Hm, sounds like Goldie...
Help is readily available, all ya got do is ask, good bunch here willing to share there experience and knowledge. Good luck on your builds. Welcome to the Horde.
Good looking stick. How's it shoot?
Nothing speaks like first hand knowledge. Thanks for taking the time, great post.
Recently bought a pound of CFE-223 for $28 plus 5% state sales tax. Today was at another sports shop 25 mile away and it was on the shelf for $25 and of course sales tax. January it was $23.
An excellent deer/coyote/hog hunting cartridge with a wide range of bullets to choose from in a light weight shooting platform(AR-15) that has an endless amount of options and configurations...
Is the White Oak hand guard free floating? If not I would suggest a free floating hand guard, especially for varmint/target build. Other than that you're looking good. Have fun with your build and...
Good choice on the Grendel, welcome.
I've got the same marking on my receiver. Yankee Hill Machine machined the casting but I suspect this is a foundry marking. If other machine shops use the same foundry castings I know not. I'm...
That's one of the main reasons for measuring at the ogive. You get more measurement variation using COAL. Measuring at the ogive will give you consistent ammo when determining how much bullet jump...
I see picture, no problem
I'm not sure but I think LR1955 doesn't think it's a good idea. The Grendel has it's limits, it's best to stay within them.
Go baby go, congratulation.
Not to second guess but I'm going to second guess. Your confident the gunsmith is correct, that the gauge were junk, that's good. My question, how did he check the chamber?
Ya got a love it when a plan comes together, nice job.
The 28.1g load is my only sub-moe group out of 10 different loads tried. I've loaded 8208 up to 28.5 and saw no pressure signs. I've had inconsistent result with 8208 and the 123SST. Just...
I think instead of the name Rainfade it should be Persistence. Congratulation on your build especially in these challenging times. Look forward to your build pics and range reports. Welcome to the...
Very encouraging day at the range with the Nosler 120 BT and H322. Five 5-shot groups @ 100yds averaged .997. Two groups sub-moa.
