I've shot at 1,000 with a 20 inch barrel. You'll lose about 50 feet per second with an 18.
I was shooting hand loaded 123 AMax bullets that were a little faster than factory loads and had a 10...
I had good luck with 748, but it was pretty dirty. I got about the same results (maybe a little better) with AA2520 and it was much cleaner. You might want to try it when the buying panic subsides....
I have a 20 inch that was over gassed. The big advantage of the adjustable gas block is case life. Without it the rims on my cases were getting chewed up and the violent ejection was dinging the...
Nice Stick! Looks like top notch components. As tough as it is to find stuff these days, I'm sure you'll get a buyer.

In most Grendels mag lengths are the limiting factor with the 123 AMax and other bullets designed for the Grendel, or that have a skinny (VLD) ogive. Most mags limit you to 2.25 - 2.26 C.O.L.,...
OK, I'll bite. My understanding is that it is a strain relief. The lugs opposite the extractor were the ones that broke most of the time. Makes sense, an asymmetrical load was placed on the bolt...
In the US it's hard to get a libel or slander verdict because you have to prove "malice aforethought". In other words, you have to prove they knew their info was wrong and they did it intentionally....
Here's their load data for the Grendel: http://www.lapua.com/en/products/reloading/vihtavuori-reloading-data/relodata/5/53
They don't list N160. It way down there on the burn rate list...
I use 30.4 grains of AA2520 with 123 AMax bullets and a 20 inch barrel with no pressure signs. I've used SMK 120 and 123's with the same load with no problem. COL 2.25
I use CCI 450 primers, but...
Hi Ted,
I have a 6-24 x 50 Vortex Viper PST FFP and I'm very happy with it. I've fired it out to 1,000 yards on a Grendel with 20 inch barrel and a 10 moa mount. I have the BDC reticle.
Very...
Sorry to hear about that Gene. I'll keep you in my prayers. I'd love to have one of the old "Schmidt-Rubins" but it's beyond my budget right now. A buddy of mine has one and they are fine rifles. ...
Is this the article? Search grendel at the top and there are tons of articles.

Whatever you get be sure you don't have to lay your head to the side to get proper eye relief.
Generally having the scope closer to the barrel is better, so that means either a cantilever mount...
I have a Vortex Viper PST (30mm tube) 6x24. With a 10 moa base I have 4 clicks of elevation left at 1,000 yards shooting hand loaded 123 AMax bullets with about 25 fps more mv than factory loads. ...
We need journalists, there just aren't any left. Surveys of students in journalism schools show that their #1 goal is to change the world. They get that from their professors. What ever happened...
You have another bad sign! The primer impacts are off center indicating that the bolt is not fully closed or a defective bolt.
Since your primers are leaking, I'd bet that you bolt is not closing...
Buy Chris' book and help out his family. You will both benefit.
Some of the comments from the left/anti gun types have really been disgusting.
No telling how many American and allied lives...
I still have some unfired. It looks annealed, but the color difference isn't as much as new Lapua brass.
Who makes it, I don't know. A lot of companies that do business with Israel keep it quiet...
I had exactly the same experience.
