    Powder: AA1680

Just wondering if anyone has ever used AA1680 with Hornady's 120gr A-Maxs. I've used it in the past for my 7.62x39 reloading with same weight bullets but was wondering what the forum's thoughts were regarding this powder/bullet combo.

The 120gr A-MAX has to be seated so deep in the case, it's ridiculous. AA1680 is too fast for 6.5 Grendel, and is not listed on Accurate Powder's data set for any projectile weight.

It's fine for 7.62x39 because that case doesn't bottle neck as much as a Grendel, and allows fast powders to be burned beneath short, fat .311" pills.

With the Grendel and the really long, sleek pills, we use a lot of medium-slow powders on the burn rate scale, with certain ones rising to the top due to fill density, CFE and AA2520 coming to mind.

Do you have any of the Reloading Handbooks? Most reloading questions can be answered in the handbooks, from loads, powder/pill combos, procedures unique to the AR15, component selection, bullet selection for game, expansion thresholds, target pills, gas systems, you name it.
