    Projectile: Lapua 6.5mm 140 Naturalis

Has anyone loaded this bullet with anything but the 2 powders (H4895 and Varget) that used to be on the AA website.

AA has AA2520 info on the 140 gr Berger but not the Naturalis.

Specifically 8208, CFE or 2520 loads would be of help.

    Thanks

Yea I know it is not ideal for the Grendel, nuff said.......

I'm working toward a CFE load but it looks like it may be another month or so before the testing is finished.

Early projections are around 2280 fps with CFE 223 with OK pressures.

Almost forgot to mention that I am using an 18" barrel...

      Ok. Good.
I have a 24" with a 1/9 twist. Not sure if that will make a difference...

The 1/9 twist is a bit slow, but, strange as it may seem, is on the short side for a 140 gr bullet due to its very round nose and flat base.

The 24" barrel will add 75 to 100 yards to the effective range for that bullet compared to the 18" barrel.

I have tested these with Varget and they worked, velocities were what were published.
Hoping you find them going a little faster with CFE. I am hesitant to try anything not published or at least tried previously.

With these Howa bolt actions coming by the end of the year, it will be interesting to see how they shoot this bullet.

Also I see barreled actions MAY be available as opposed to buying a complete gun.
