      Go Big or Go Home!

I personally prefer the Beowulf or the Ulfberht!

My longest are on a steel deer target at 450 yards. Sounds like someone is whacking it with a ball peen hammer!

No problems hearing the bullet impact at all!!

That's a heck of a shot at that distance with this cartridge.

But no matter what or where you hit with it....the target falls down...

Awesome find Montana ! Keep up the great work dude!

Is your shorty 40 carbine- same as mine- up and running yet? Perfect for self defense.
16" of reliable home intruder bug spray. In the 110, and lighter pills - it's awesome for close in work!

7.62x40WT. It's the bigger bro to the Blackout round- not intended to be suppressed, at all.
It's more of the idea of a 30-30 AR., Plenty of ammo in a Hott situation. I have wolves up in my spot,I don't trust them,I like to travel between our stands- I can carry plenty of self defense ammo --- this way. AR package works for many of us.

I ran some numbers- it's better than the 10mm Handgun round, by 40 %, at the minimum .

Plus the aiming focal plane is better with a short carbine- as compared to the average Joe -under stress doing the classic Barney Fife -wiggle hand - trying to aim under stress. one handed, with a pistol--- that probably gets shot ---once a year???

Yes , the old weaver stance and such, has helped on guys - gals -with pistol shooting----- carbines seem to be the best option- aside from a double bbl shotgun- with a crimson , laser sight.

I sent you a picture of my 40 when we had the smart phone. It runs great but I haven't had time to work up the loads I want to use since this is my busy work season. I will be comparing loads with you in about a month when I will have more time. The 40 would be a great self defense rifle for 2 or 4 legged predators. I compete in practical shooting and feel vary comfortable with a hand gun but I agree with you with your preference for a rifle in a self defense situation. I use an aim point micro on my suppressed AR carbine. There is no better self defense tool in my opinion. Just tonight I went with my wife and daughter for our evening walk where we ran into a person who was having severe mental problems. The sheriffs department came and escorted him away. He was well known to them as having mental and drug problems. Knowing my wife and daughter are armed and more importantly very well trained is a comfort to me. This is why I have always been a non compromised supporter of the Second Amendment.
