Let me just make sure I've got this right. A Poll tax is a violation of your right to Vote. However, a tax on Guns and Ammo is not a violation of your Right to Bear Arms. Does that about sum it up? :?

The proposed tax is based on a similar one established in Cook County, Illinois in 2013 that was met with a lawsuit from area retailers.
Cook County sounds like a great place to model legislation off of. What success stories do they have there?

Oh my God this is too good. From paragraph 2:"The proposal, introduced last month by Council President Tim Burgess, is billed as the city’s solution to the $17 million in medical costs from 253 gunshot victims at Harborview Medical Center last year, which Seattle underwrites with public funds."

From paragraph 9:"Burgess contends the money, while it won’t go towards covering the city’s health care obligations on gunshot care...

NRA to sue Seattle over gun tax.

National Rifle Association and National Shooting Sports Foundation say Seattle gun tax violates Washington state law.

biodsl ... please understand that you are misinterpreting what they are saying by actually reading both paragraph 2 and 9. What they mean is they didn't say that. And of course you are a racist for reading both paragraphs and pointing out that they are blatant liars.

If a republican gets in office, please make an executive pen sweep that requires all legal households not owning a gun to pay $500 per day to cover the cost of items stolen from other homeowners. That sounds liberal enough.
