Was looking in an older reloading manual & noticed that 748 seemed to show higher velocities than most other powders. Since I have some, I was thinking of trying it. Has anyone used it & what were your results? Thanks.

I use the AA reloading info for the 123 scenars and the Hornady info for the 123 SST's.

I just looked over the data in Volume I and II for it, and don't see higher velocities compare to other powders when used with cup and core. Everything I'm seeing shows lower speeds, except when under the Barnes 110gr Banded Solid and 120gr TSX-BT. It seems to do very well with the solids.NRA Basic, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, RSO

There has been speculation that Berger uses QuickLoad as its principal tool for load development. My own experience with QL in the Grendel is that the predicted velocities can be uncomfortably far off from what I see in tests.
The classic advice to start low (5 - 10%) and work up to find an accuracy node, hopefully before pressures get too high, is doubly sound whenever using QuickLoad as a guide.shootersnotes.com
