Welcome to the Marksmanship Training Forum!
In an effort to make the Grendel Forums as helpful as possible to the members, we will be expanding the scope of our offerings. The Marksmanship Training Forum is our first experience with trying to systemize the information available.
I would like to be the first to offer a warm welcome to LR1955 as a Special Moderator with responsibility for this forum. Much of what I know about long range shooting is a culmination of his and his instructors efforts to teach me, and I owe him a debt of gratitude for that.
Since I assume most people will start with the Technical Knowledge Forum, I will post this introduction here. I look forward to the evolution these forums will undergo over time, and the many different points of view that will be offered.
"The intent of this forum is to better the marksmanship performance of forum members through discussion of training concepts and techniques that members believe have markedly improved their rifle marksmanship ability. There is a huge population of solid marksmen on the forum whose interests and goals span a wide spectrum of marksmanship related activities. Let’s use this forum as a means of communicating our ideas, equipment choices, and training techniques to each other so we can further develop our own marksmanship potential.
Shooters differ dramatically in how they approach a marksmanship requirement. Opinions count and are excellent ways of learning different ideas and techniques. Personally, I want members to express their opinions. If giving an opinion, please state why. Understand that marksmanship is mostly a mental game that can’t be quantified but can be qualified so go ahead and give it your best as to why you believe a certain technique or method works.
Let’s see how this works out and probably we will end up changing the thread titles – which will indicate that we have learned something new as time goes along."
