    Build in Progress

Because I can get a little over eager at times and to reduce the risk of me flooding out the forum with a hundred different posts, I will try and contain everything related to my build here.

Currently in the gathering of materials phase.
Links will be provided for what I am planning on buying.

    What I still need:

    Trigger: https://geissele.com/hi-speed-nation...e-trigger.html

    Barrel: http://riflebarrels.com/shop/65-gren...-grendel-ar24/

Optic: looking at the Vortex Viper 6-24x50

    Optic mount: open to suggestions.

    Bipod: https://secure.wf-api.com/www.precis...pod-xds-2.html

    On Order:

Sentry 9 clamp on gas block

    What I do currently have:

Grey Ghost Precision cornerstone lower receiver
Grey Ghost Precision Raptor charging handle (rebranded for them)
    Daniel Defense lower parts kit
    CMMG Receiver Extension A1
    CMMG Buffer Spring MK8
    YHM Rifle Gas tube
    Midwest SS-Series 15 Rail FDE G2
WMS Nib-X BCG with hammer 556
    Lilja 6.5 Grendel Bolt
    DPMS Rifle Buffer
    Precision Firearms Billet Upper Receiver
    Magpul PRS

I am willing to take suggestions on anything I have or will be buying for my build. Trying to put together a high accuracy target rifle.

If anyone would be willing to share their experience with the Luth AR or Magpul stock it would be much appreciated.

"high accuracy target rifle" I'd suggest the PRS and going with a PF matched billet lower, as it appears your goal is to squeeze out ALL the accuracy you can.

you are 100% correct, I should. I allowed myself to be tricked into buying this lower by the fact that it is made locally.

I haven't even started trying to decide what optic and mounts I will be using. I am open to suggestions on that.

I didn't mean to knock that lower, I don't know anything about it. FWIW I'm using spikes forged lowers on my 16" DMR Grendel setup and my 11.5" Grendel SBR setup. However, I don't need consistent sub 0.5 MOA accuracy.

You are right that, if I want the lowest possible level of machine error I will replace the lower with one of higher quality, preferably made by the same who make the upper I will purchase. But, II do have a tendency to like to buy local when possible.

No problem. Use the better quality lower on your target build and the other on the next build for a general blaster/hunting rig.You know you'll want more than one.

I like the gas block, barrel choices..Geissele makes great triggers, I'm just not a fan of them
I liked flat triggers, and so I went with a Elftman Tactical trigger, best trigger I've personally used. The PRS is nice but Heavey, heard great things about the Luth stock and if it's lighter and good quality is use it instead. That's me though
12.5" SBR Grendel - Need Barrel
                        Surge - Rugged Suppressor
Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.

Make sure to use Blue Loc tite on the outside of the barrel nut when installing that handguard, after de-greasing the surfaces.

I will read up on the elfman.

One of the reasons I liked the PRS over the Luth AR was the weight. Was thinking of how it would balance out the rifle with the heavy barrel. I could be wrong on that though.

Have some set aside specific for this build.
