Maybe not the greatest testament to the penetration capabilities of the 6.5 Grendal Hornady SST 123 gr ammo, but still pretty impressive. It can be hard to get bullets to go through that much bone and angles of bone and still penetrate well, but the SST did, though I suspect it was coming apart when it entered the second hog skull, based on the size of the entry wound that looked more like and exit wound. Penetration included through and throughs on both hog heads.
The third hog was shot twice and neither round exited, but both would have had to travel an exceptionally long distance to do so. With the first shot, I failed to lead the hog far enough and the shot entered the posterior right hip, breaking it in the process. The second shot entered just left of the top center of the back, but just behind the ribs.
I hope you enjoy the video.
